Paul’s 1st Letter To Corinth REVIEW Written from Ephesus 16:8 Timothy was sent into Macedonia Acts 19:22 Apparently, he was to go to Corinth afterwards 4:17 Paul also planned to go there…even winter 4:19 16:5-7 Paul was not sure if Timothy would arrive in Corinth before he did 16:10-11 We are fairly certain when it was written Paul mentions a “wide (effective) door of service” opening for him 16:9 The events in Acts 19:13-20 fit very well re: this “door” The fake Jewish exorcists are exposed The “name of the Lord” was magnified The Ephesians burning their magic books would have been a tremendous opportunity (a “wide door”)

Paul’s 1st Letter To Corinth REVIEW Some from Chloe’s house came to Ephesus and told Paul about Corinth’s troubles 1:11 There were also previously-written letters…their contents are not revealed in the Scripture One from Paul to Corinth 5:9 One from Corinth to Paul 7:1 Titus apparently carried this letter to Corinth How Corinth received its stern tone would have concerned Paul Titus was instructed to meet Paul in Troas after he left Ephesus…however, Paul did not find him 2 Cor 2:12-13 Paul & Titus later meet in Macedonia…the Corinthians received the letter well and had repented 2 Cor 7:5-16

Careful study is the key!!

Paul’s 2nd Letter To Corinth Paul is stressing over his 1st letter being forced to rebuke them sharply Paul leaves Ephesus and goes to Troas 2:12-13 He is expecting to meet Titus there with word from Corinth Titus is not there and Paul is discouraged and does not delay his journey He did not get relief in Macedonia due to added external afflictions in addition to his worries for the Corinthian brethren 7:5 Until Titus arrived and reported
