Settlement Оktyabrskiy The population of our settlement is more than 16,000 people. Our settlement has its own emblem. It consists of two towels, symbolizing our TEXTILE FACTORY.

The history of the village began 900 years ago The history of the village began 900 years ago. In the XIV century, settlement Balyatino was founded on Astrakhan trackway. At the beginning Balyatino was a small village, it began to develop only in the XVIII century.

Palashny was built there. Later it became the cloth factory Palashny was built there. Later it became the cloth factory. Then, in the XIX century, a cotton-spinning and weaving factories were built. So Balyatino became the center of the textile industry, attracting more and more workers. First village is mentioned in documents of the 14th as Balyatino. The name of the village was associated with the wetlands (рус. «болото»). Little houses were surrounded by thick forests. As the village was located on Astrakhan trackway, it often became a resting place for merchants and other travellers.

A little later, during the reign of Anna Ivanovna, Palashny became the cloth factory which was closed in 1896 and bought by the partnership "Gorkinskaya manufactory". In 1989 not far from the old building new houses of Cotton and textile factories were built, and the old building was used as a housing for employees. After the October Revolution in 1917 the factory got the name of «The Factory of October Revolution» and the name of the settlement became Oktyabrskiy.

Last time a lot of other shopping centers were opened in our settlement.Shopping complex "Textile Profi" is one of the sights of the settlement. You can find a lot of useful things there.

All in all, Oktiabrskiy is a wonderful place to live as well as to visit. Friendly people, lovely landscapes and amazing entertainment places will touch your heart deeply. Once you come here, you will never ever want to leave!
