The word for seven is a homonym for "an age" in Latin  Seven years is how long it takes a field to go from fallow to fertile  It took the average worker seven years to save enough money to buy a new mirror  Every seven years, the body is rejuvenated

If you walk under a ladder, you're said to go against:  The will of the god Loki  The wishes of the goddess Venus  The rule of nature  The Holy Trinity

Tradition holds that the triangle formed by the ladder and the ground represents the three beings of the Trinity. To walk through it is said to go against God.
