yo- estoy nosotros- estamos tú- estás vosotros- estáis Ud./él/ella- está Uds./ellos/ellas- están Estar is used with prepositions to say where something is located.
al lado de* Next to El gato está al lado del conejo.-The cat is next to the rabbit.
a la derecha de To the right of La escuela está a la derecha de mi casa.-The school is to the right of my house.
a la izquierda de To the left of La tienda de ropa está a la izquierda del mercado.- The clothing store is to the left of the market.
antes de Before if a verb is used after ‘antes de,’ keep it infinitive Leo antes de dormir.-I read before going to sleep.
debajo de* Under / underneath Los regalos están debajo del árbol.-The presents are under the tree.
cerca de* Near, close to El mono está cerca del gato.-The monkey is near the cat.
delante de*/enfrente de In front of La familia está delante de/enfrente de la televisión.
después de After if a verb is used after ‘después de,’ keep it infinitive Comemos después de ejercitar.-We are eating after exercising.
detrás de* Behind El perro está detrás del árbol.- The dog is behind the tree.
