Incentives – take-up of loft insulation Any questions? I - INCENTIVES move to unleaded petrol. Tax and benefit system is full of examples lung cancer deaths: France and UK time lines Loft Example Loft insulation is something that benefits customers and the environment at the same time. This trial first looked at whether people could use their social networks to gain group discounts. These were financial discounts applied to groups of houses. This was relatively ineffective. However, by understanding the true reason behind why these were ineffective helped to find an effective solution using priming. By re-packaging, or re-framing loft insulation as a loft clearance service with insulation on the side, installation increased by almost three times. This ‘test and learn’ approach allowed testers to learn that discounts were largely unsuccessful due to the “hassle factor” of loft insulation.
