Year 8 Options PE & DANCE COURSES

BTEC SPORT Worth 1 GCSE with 3 lessons a week - 2 practical & 1 theory The course is 75% coursework and 25% exam based with most double lessons practically based with a theory lesson follow up. You do NOT need to be good at PE, but you need to be willing to always participate with an interest in the world of PE and sport. You must be willing to lead others in some practical coaching sessions and officiate in various activities throughout the year. A commitment to after school activities is required to lead various Primary school competitions, tournaments and festivals. You must have good ICT and English skills as the majority of the coursework will be done on computers on the VLE.

BTEC Performing Arts Dance 3 lessons a week, a single and a double lesson Equivalent to one GCSE Over the three years, you will complete three units 1. Dance Skills 2. Preparation, Performance and Production 3. Individual Showcase Largely practical with a small element of written work Don’t need previous Dance experience if you are willing to learn and try If you would like any more information, please speak to Mrs Moloney.
