What We Will Be Working On: Greetings from Kindergarten and First Grade! Week of: April 18th - April 22nd What We Will Be Working On: Reader’s Workshop: K-Students will identify important words in their non-fiction books. 1st- Students will share their opinions. Writer’s Workshop: K-Students will add powerful endings to their writing. 1st- Students will complete a meet the author page. Read Aloud: We will use this time to start practicing for SOS. Math: K-Students will begin module 5: Numbers 10-20 & Counting to 100 1st- Students will begin module 6: Place value and addition & subtraction to 20 Character: We will take this time to integrate our Show Our Stuff performance into our character curriculum. Important Dates: April 21st- PTO Meeting- 6:00 pm April 26th- Field trip to the CT Science Center April 29th- Author’s Breakfast 9:30- 10:00 May 11th- Auerfarm field trip MARK YOUR CALENDARS: May 18th – Show our Stuff! May 27th- Field Day! Author’s Breakfast Please join us for our last Author’s Breakfast of the year to celebrate our last Writer’s Workshop unit. We will be having our breakfast on April 29th from 9:30- 10:00 following community meeting. At the Author’s Breakfast your child will be able to share their most recently published piece of writing.
