Elements of Literacy Word Work/Making Big Words Students practice new vocabulary, spelling, and linking known words to new words Reader’s Workshop Students work in on independent and partner reading using books at their independent and instructional levels. Read Aloud Teacher is reading text to students Shared Reading/Poem Teacher and students are reading together to work on literacy concepts and fluency. Writing Workshop Students write stories and books while working on primary units of study.
