Steps to District Accreditation Applicant Submit a Letter of Interest The District Accreditation Process begins with the superintendent sending a Letter of Interest to AdvancED. The letter conveys that the district is interested in the process and in exploring readiness for District Accreditation. The letter should include the following components: Name of district, city, and state Statement of intent to pursue District Accreditation Indication of the number of schools in the district, and the number that are accredited and in candidacy Contact information © 2010 AdvancED

Submit a Letter of Commitment Upon receiving the recommendation from the Readiness Visit Report to move to Candidate status, the district sends a Letter of Commitment to AdvancED that includes governing board and superintendent approval to enter the District Accreditation process. The letter should include: Name of district, city, and state Notice of when the Readiness Visit was held Name of the individuals who conducted the visit Statement of Commitment to pursue District Accreditation Notice and date of board approval to pursue District Accreditation © 2010 AdvancED
Steps to District Accreditation Candidate Ensure all schools are accredited or candidates for accreditation Submit preferred dates for the QAR Prepare for the QAR visit Complete the Accreditation Comprehensive Report Host the Quality Assurance Review team Communicate findings to the community © 2010 AdvancED
