Life Cycle Analysis

What is it? The life cycle of a product from the origin/creation of all its parts until it is completely useless and its disposal

The Concept When applying the life cycle analysis of products in everyday life, people consider the following: Impacts at every stage of production What is involved in getting product to consumers? Consequences of using the product Problems with disposal of all parts of the product Implications with destruction of the product

Life cycle analysis considers the social, economic and environmental impacts of obtaining the components, the manufacturing of the product and destroying the product.

When do we use it? Life cycle analysis is a part of any product at all stages of development but it can and should be incorporated in early steps of the design process. Incorporating the life cycle into the design process will allow people to develop “cradle to cradle” products instead of “cradle to grave” products.
