Background Kulttuurikoski 2011:The City of Tampere’s application for the European Capital of Culture in 2007 As the programme was being prepared, it became apparent that people had a need to get to know their city and its history. In addition, there was a desire to expand district and neighbourhood activities
Goals to introduce people to the cultural history and heritage of a district or the whole of the city to promote a sense of community, participation and health as well as creating a positive profile for different city districts and the city to build a network of neighbourhood events and cultural trails in Tampere
Execution Planned and executed together with the Cultural Affairs Units, 3. sector parties (district and cultural associations) and other cultural agents and agencies 21 brochures produced so far that are based on the history of a specific person or a city district. A video has been made of some of the trails.

The themes of the brochures are e. g The themes of the brochures are e.g. literature, music, architecture or visual arts. The costs range from 300 to 2000 € (includes the brochure and the dramatised and documented trail).
