FlippedTIPS Evolved from TIPS Teaching Interdisciplinary Problem Solving through Educational Technology

Over 600 Bronx Secondary Teachers Implemented TIPS with thousands of students (2000—2005) under a $7M+ Grant

Over the years TIPS has integrated more online tools, technologies and methods and has become FlippedTIPS

incorporates blended learning, the SAMR and TPACK models and OER FlippedTIPS incorporates blended learning, the SAMR and TPACK models and OER (acronyms explained later)

In the summer of 2015, Joe Montecalvo collaborated with District 5 and wrote a successful three-year NYSED Learning Technology Grant (LTG)

The purpose of the LTG is to: Transform learning environments through the integrated use of technology to ensure effective teaching and learning classrooms and school libraries to improve student academic performance Make use of recognized model for integrated use of technology into classrooms and school libraries that are based on research and have shown evidence or promise of significantly increasing student academic success
