What is Method Test Prep? Free, online ACT prep program Available to all South Dakota high school students with the exception of home school students Consists of lessons, quizzes, evaluation tests, vocabulary practice, full length exams divided by subtest Can be done individually, self- paced, as part of a class, as assigned work, as part of an ACT prep program Contains about 300+ hours of content each year Items reset each summer, so can be used for multiple years

Where is Method Test Prep? A component of students’ SD MyLife account. After log-in access by clicking on MTP link on lower left.

MTP Dashboard Walk through dashboard – gray tabs on left, blue bar across top. Two of the most important things to focus on are the Evaluation Tests and the Full Length Exam (can break full length exam down into portions.)

Vocabulary Builder Based on words likely to appear on ACT. To ‘master’ a word you have to get it right twice. Definite correlation between vocabulary and test scores.

Scores by Concept Compares my quiz results with MTP norm group on each concept Click on name of subtest to see breakdown of concept, questions answered per concept, number correct, percentage – whether it’s a strength of weakness compared to MTP norm. (MTP norm is reset nightly to account for all students who have taken the quizzes.)

Parents can access MTP through their SD MyLife parent portal Parents can access MTP through their SD MyLife parent portal. Contact the Guidance Office for Parent Portal activation code. Students can ‘invite’ their parents to view their SD MyLife PLP. A parent activation code is then emailed to parents. Or contact the Guidance Office for code.
