Active Living and Healthy Eating by Design Active Living and Healthy Eating by Design is a way of life that integrates physical activity and healthy eating into daily routines. ALbD supports communities to do this through community design.

Active Living by Design Current Clients

ALbD/HEbD Active Living by Design (2003-2008) 25 grantees $200,000 over five years Healthy Eating by Design pilot (2005-2006) 12 grantees (subset of ALbD) $50,000 over 18 months Special focus: children in lower income communities HEbD Transition supplements (2007) Focus Help partnerships increase routine physical activity and healthy eating through community design

HEbD Tangible Results Preparation Promotion Buffalo                                                       Lents farmers market wins 3-year grant Thursday, February 15, 2007 Fans of the Lents International Farmers Market, rejoice. The market, born last year at Crossroads Plaza, near Southeast 92nd Avenue and Foster Road, won a three-year grant to continue every Sunday from June through mid-October. The $150,000 grant will keep the market going in a part of Portland starved for fresh, healthful food choices, says former market coordinator, Hilary DuBose. The grant will cover a staff position and help produce information about the market in numerous languages, she says. A new coordinator hasn't been chosen.
