MYTHS ABOUT SLEEP BLOG PROJECT Emre Kajan

INTRODUCTION As part of my project for this track at university I had to write a blog on myths about sleep. Here you can see a summary of the work I did.

VIDEOS ABOUT SLEEPING MYTHS After doing some research from websites I found a very beneficial video on seven myths about sleep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikpWuCt6kQI After watching the video I made an online mind map using coggle.it

MINDMAP

TEXTS ON SLEEP MYTHS The next step was to find an interesting article relating to the topic. I decided to find more information about the topic. I read this article from the Healthgrades Operating Company http://healthguides.healthgrades.com/getting-a-good-nights-sleep/10-myths-about-sleep

After reading the article my next task was to compose an essay on the topic SOME MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT SLEEP Sleep is very vital for the human body. It is essential for people’s health and wellbeing. Therefore, people should have enough and regular sleep every night. Many people have some misconceptions about sleep. This may prevent to get a good sleep. There are three specific fallacies which people believe about sleep and affect people sleeping pattern in terms of mental, physical and health. At first, many people think that if you cannot fall asleep, you should stay in bed and wait until you sleep. This is not true. If you cannot fall asleep, you should do some relaxing activities such as exercise, reading a book or walking. When you feel tired, you should go to bed and try to sleep. These activities will help you to sink into sleep easily. In addition, people believe that if you drink alcohol, you can get a good sleep. Alcohol has a sedative effect. It helps you fall a sleep quickly but it decreases your sleep quality. It causes you to wake up more during the night. For this reason, you should not drink alcohol before go to bed. Furthermore, if you cannot sleep very well, you should not take a sleeping pill immediately. Many people take a sleeping pill before they go to the doctor. First, you should go to a doctor and tell your problem to the doctor. After talking with the doctor, you try to overcome the problem. If it does not work, you can use medication to solve your sleeping problem. To sum up, sleep has an important role for human body. Getting enough sleep helps people to keep fit , be strong and work hard during the day. Because of this, people should have enough and perfect sleep at nights. Some people believe myths about staying in bed, drinking alcohol and sleeping pills which are harmful for sleep. Rush low, Amy. “10 myths about sleep. Healthguides Health grades.
