3rd Grade Weekly Update Ms. Soeder Important News and Reminders March 11-15 Language Arts -This week’s story is titled “Chestnut Cove.” It is a fantasy story. -Our focus skill this week is identifying cause and effect relationships. -Our robust vocabulary words are: eagerly, transferred, contented, collaborate, fondness, emotion, ridiculous, disgraceful, decent, and inherit. -We will work on using past, present, and future verbs correctly. -Our writing project will be a fantasy story. Science This month we will switch gears to life cycles. We will start by diagramming the stages of various life cycles. Next week we will begin a research project in small groups. Everyday Math Lesson 7.8-7.9 and Test This week we will be working on the following skills: -Multiplication and division strategies. -Estimation -The test is THURSDAY! Students are taking “recess” during that time which causes them to miss real recess to make up the work. Please use this time for learning and not play! -Raelynn, you have been putting in so much hard work lately and you have seen such great improvements. I am so very proud of you and hope that you continue your best efforts!
