Agenda The need for showcasing teaching Proposal of national committee’s work (to the educational council of Universities Denmark) Recommendations on how Pure can accommodate the need Future development
Three out of four academics in Denmark spend around 50% of their time on teaching and teaching activities. Teaching load approximate. Data from www.lønoverblik.dk, 3rd quarter 2016
Status of teaching is a recognized quality issue Data from the report “Høje Mål” by The Expert Committee on Quality in Higher Education in Denmark.
The role of teaching: A case of “hemispatial neglect”
Why is registration in PURE a desirable option? The universities do not have a system for registering and showcasing teaching activities Academics are familiar with PURE (most use it already) All Danish Universities use the system already (transfer of data) Common platform for academic reporting – may be used in personal development review Possible to showcase teaching on universities’ portals
