Mark 2:1-12- Background Jews believed that people could get ill because they were being punished by God for a sin. Only God could forgive sins. The roofs of houses at the time were flat and were made of mud and branches so it would be easy to dig through them.

Jesus is showing that he is the Son of God and the Messiah. Mark 2:1-12 -The Meaning Jesus forgives the man’s sins. This would have been seen as blasphemy by the Jewish authorities. Jesus proves who he is because in forgiving the sins, the man is healed and walks away. Jesus is showing that he is the Son of God and the Messiah. He calls himself the Son of Man…
