Presentation transcript:

Common Scams The most common type of scam aimed at kids is usually a knockdown price or free piece of the latest technology such as the new Ipad or Xbox 360. Scammers can also “phish” for personal information about you and your family. These usually come through your email. Ex. Asking to reactivating your facebook or claiming you have won a international lottery and wanting information to claim it.

Example of a Scam Ad

Strangers Online Be cautious of who you talk to online. There are imposters out there. Not everyone is who they say to be. Chat rooms and even Facebook, can be dangerous. Be sure you know exactly who you are talking to.

Personal Information Do not give out personal information to people you do not know online. Personal information such as your birthday, social security number or phone number etc.
