Laptops in the classroom Allows teachers to find online programs that make learning new information interesting and exciting for a student Encourage children’s enthusiasm

How to use them Presentation creation Research Educational learning websites Communication with teacher about assignments and classmates about class projects

Advantages for everyone in using laptops Facilitates group work and collaboration Students participation would increase Flexible Provide immediate data processing Can be taken outside the classroom Field trips Home with the student

Research done showed.. Conducted by Deborah Lowther, Steven Ross, and Gary Morrison Students in a 1:1 laptop classroom demonstrated.. Better computer skills Increased knowledge on how to conduct research on the internet Improved writing skills Overall increased attention to products and design

Student Benefits to using laptops Engage students in project based learning and multimedia activities Exposes them to the technological culture of our contemporary society Can increase child’s interest in learning Increase academic performance

Benefits in the long run Better prepared for high school and college Makes the transition to a more technology centered learning area easier Cut down on the “how to” classes that professors at colleges teach.

Classroom management techniques Designate “think time” or “lids down” when students need to direct attention and focus on the teacher Internet logging software Set up shortcut programs Have students save files in a specific directory Walk around the room to make sure students are on task
