KOMÁRNO Fortress Soldiers - verbunk Danube – Vah – Žitava Trade path Gold Fish Komarno is situated at the confluence of the rivers Danube and Vaag. This is why Komárno was a very important trade path and it was also the border town of the Austro – Hungarian Monarchy. The population consisted of soldiers, merchants and craftsmen. For that reason Komárno does not have its own folk culture. Komárno´s folklore was influenced by people from different regions coming to Komárno to defend, to work or to sell goods. In the following short film you will see a traditional dance – danced only by young men who were either going to war or getting ready for their service in the army.

MARTOVCE Vyberte rozloženie... The most famous and still living folklore we can find 15 km away from Komárno in Martovce.
