Title I Updates LD Central Website has much of the information needed for Title I Designees: http://achieve.lausd.net/Page/6657

Title I Updates Annual Title I Meeting (FSEP website) No Second Title I Allocation this year Deadline Supports (“High Risk list”) Benefits for Classified Staff Online SPSA - timeline Nursing allowances

Title I Updates Meal applications (ages 5-17) – due 10/24/16 by 5:00 (remember this is tied to 10/5 CBEDS enrollment) Multi-funded time reporting (we will discuss this in November) October 15, 2016 – SSC Training @ Roybal

Title I Scenarios Your team will receive a hypothetical scenario. Work as a group to say what steps you would take to resolve this scenario and what resources you will need. Groups will be asked to share out.

Title I Scenarios Example: All of our categorical funds were put into pending distribution during Budget Development last year. Now we want to spend our Title I monies on SIM, a City Year contract, and Teacher X-time. None of this is in our SPSA from last year.

Title I Scenarios Steps: Draft a modification to the SPSA. Put item on the agenda for next SSC meeting. Discuss and approve it at SSC meeting. __________.

Title I Scenarios Resources: School data showing why City Year, SIM, and Teacher X-time are relevant. SPSA Modification page. BAR form. ______?

Title I Scenarios Healthy Middle School budgeted for four days of nursing services out of Title I but the District was only able to provide two days of nursing services. What next steps must the school take? What resources are needed?

Title I Scenarios Literate Elementary’s School Site Council approved $28,000 in software license for 2016-2017. SPSA indicates in the ELA Goal Matrix the use of Accelerated Reader and Read 180 for their intervention program. SSC decided to purchase software license for Math. What next steps might the school take? What resources are needed?

Title I Scenarios At Lifelong Learner Elementary, the SSC approved professional development for 10 teachers. A 2 day session is scheduled for June 14 -15, 2017. The amount of $8,000 was transferred to PD Teacher X-Time on May 1, 2017 in Title I (7S046). At the PD session, 12 teachers attended. The Principal welcomed all teachers and at the end, the SAA did payroll. What might likely happen? What next steps/resources?

Title I Scenarios At Plato Lleno Span School, the Title I Designee was too busy with other duties as assigned and didn’t realize until today that the annual Title I meeting must be held and affirmed in the Principal Portal by 10/31. What are his next steps? What resources are available to him?

Title I Scenarios At Involved Elementary, a parent requested additional intervention for a group of students after seeing the SBAC scores for the school on the LAUSD website. The Title I budget currently has the following $3,000 in Teacher X-Time Tutoring $30,000 in Professional Development Teacher X-Time $15,000 in Supplemental Instructional Materials $20,000 in Software License Maintenance $28,000 in Teacher Assistants $3,000 Teacher Assistant Relief $112,000 for Intervention Prevention Support Coordinator $1,488 for Inter.
