“One out of five children in London is overweight or obese before they start primary school. That number rises to one out of three by the time they start secondary school. It is the single biggest issue that is affecting our children’s lifelong health and their opportunity to have the best start in life. This is simply not good enough and it is a situation we should not tolerate.”  Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London

Areas of action 1 – Tackle advertising and sponsorship 2 – Improve the food controlled or influenced by the council and support the public and voluntary sectors to improve their food offer 3 – Reduce prominence of sugary drinks and actively promote free drinking water 4 – Support businesses and organisations to improve their food offer 5 – Public events 6 – Raise public awareness
