Replicating Art and Poetry Project

STEP ONE: Decide on a photograph or a painting. Look at books, magazines, Internet, etc. Pick one you can reasonably replicate. Some IMPORTANT guidelines: There must be a person in the photograph/painting No nudity or scantily dressed people No obscene gestures No violence

STEP TWO: Write a poem about the photograph or painting. Some criteria Write in third person POV Write at least 10 lines Your poem DOES NOT have to rhyme Suggestion (Optional) You may use a poem format as a guide (next slides)

STEP THREE: Replicate yourself into the photograph/painting. Take a picture of yourself as a subject in the photograph/painting. Some IMPORTANT guidelines: You must be in the photograph/painting No nudity or scantily dressed people No obscene gestures No violence Do not put yourself in danger

STEP THREE: Replicate yourself into the photograph/painting. Some considerations: You may want to use photoshop. You may want your replicated photograph to look just like the original photograph/painting (down to the details). OR You may want to change something about your replicated photograph from the original photograph/painting. Modernize it Change the setting Change the clothes

STEP 5: Answer questions in complete sentences. What is the title of the work? Who is the artist? How many pictures did you look at before you chose the one you did? Why did you select the photograph that you did? What changes did you make to the original picture? Do you think you created a different mood than the original picture? Which poem did you have a more difficult time writing? Who was your photographer? What were their thoughts on the project?
