Present Tense 1. Use the 1st principal part mitto mittere misi missum 3rd Singular Plural 1st mitto 2nd 3rd The first principal part of the verb IS the 1st person singular present active indicative

Present Tense 2. Find the present stem mitto mittere misi missum 3rd Singular Plural 1st mitto mitte- 2nd mitte- mitte- 3rd mitte- mitte- The present stem comes from the 2nd principal part without the –re ending.

Present Tense 3. Vowel change mitto mittere misi missum 3rd Singular Plural 1st mitto mitti- 2nd mitti- mitti- 3rd mitti- mittu- WATCH OUT!!!! 3rd conjugation verbs have a vowel change

Present Tense 4. Add personal endings mitto mittere misi missum 3rd Singular Plural 1st mitto I send mittimus we send 2nd mittis you send mittitis you send 3rd mittit he sends mittunt they send Add personal endings. The endings indicate the subject of the verb.
