Roadmap 100% RE in Germany and North Hesse BuiIding Blocks for a 100% RE Transformation Learnings from Germany and Canada Dr. Peter Moser, IdE/KMH Global Learning Forum Vancouver, May 17. – 19., 2017
Structure 1. The German 100% RE-Regions network Genesis Structure 2. Roadmap North Hesse: The way to 100% RE Management Roadmap Workshops Indicators Twinning Network
Background Transition of Energy System towards Renewable Energy is Conducted Locally and Decentralized Regions are forming the Level of Action for the implementation of RE (Implementer ) Regions can influence the framework for implementation (Organizer) Regions can set speed and direction of transition (Pacemaker) Regions are Pioneers, both on federal and national level 100ee-Regions are Pioneers of a fundamental Replacement of the traditional Energy System
1. German Project 100% RE Regions The project supports regions and communities aiming to cover their energy demand with renewable energy Overview of regional activities using the 100ee-Map Know-how transfer, consulting, lectures and information materials Supporting regions via public relations activities The project is conducted by the IdE (Institute decentralized Energy Technologies) located in Kassel. The project is financed by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and technically advised by the German Environment Agency.
From R&D- Project to 100%RE-Regions-Network 2007-2010 R&D Project Overview 100% Renewable Energy Regions, Case Studies, Accompanying Research, Knowledge Transfer between Regions, Conference, Website 2010-2012 Network Development “100ee-Regions” in Germany Supporting the “100ee-Regions” by Expert Advice, Lectures, Workshops and Development of Management Structures for efficient Networking since 2013 Further Development of Network Activities Cross-sector Cooperation (Local Administration, Associations , Industry..) Marketing Campaigns, Expert Advice, Benchmarking, Conference l

2. Roadmap North Hesse: Process management for regions on the way to 100% RE Targets of the project Roadmaps for districts and municipalities of North Hesse Strategy development, competence building and initiation of implementation actions at municipal level Analysis of the energy transition through the development and use of criteria Transfer of knowledge within the regions and into the regions Strategic networking of those involved in the energy transition
Roadmap North Hesse 12 Fields of action „Where does the district and its municipalities stand?“ 12 Fields of action for an energy transition Strategy Energy sector Stakeholder Status Quo Used RE-Technologies Participation local stakeholders Target energy transition Buildings Knowledge generation Planning and orientation Mobility Public communication Responsibility in institutions Energy efficiency and energy saving Participation in networks
