Military Saves 2015 Background: Military Saves is co-sponsored by the Consumer Federation of America and the Department of Defense. Military Saves Quarterly Meeting #MSW2015 Military Saves Week 2015 Kick Off! February 23rd – February 28th Chairman GEN Dempsey and Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman, Sgt Maj Battaglia released a public service announcement in support of Military Saves Week and each year sign the Memo for Chief of Military Services to kick off the Military Saves campaign for the year.

How to Help Servicemembers & Their Families Save? Military Saves Quarterly Meeting Installations, Commands, and Readiness Centers How to Help Servicemembers & Their Families Save? Encourage servicemembers and their families to take the Military Saves Pledge, a commitment to begin the journey toward increased financial readiness. Encourage servicemembers and their families to create automatic contributions to a savings account. Promote increasing the amount they save by 1%. Encouraging them to use pay increases to increase their savings. Conduct savings workshops and presentations in collaboration with on-base financial institutions on topics relevant to your installation community.

How to participate in Military Saves Week? Military Saves Quarterly Meeting Installations, Commands, and Readiness Centers How to participate in Military Saves Week? Obtain a signed Commander’s Proclamation and encourage uniformed leadership to support efforts through communications channels. Set a goal for the number of pledges to can achieve during the week. Promote and provide opportunity for individuals (servicemembers, their family members, DoD civilians, and national guardsmen and reservist) to the Military Saves pledge. Partner with non-profit organizations and on-base financial institutions to and increase awareness and visibility.

Saving through direct deposit and embedded pledge form on your website will increase customer accounts. To boost overall savings rates for servicemembers and their families. Participating in Military Saves Week supports the marketing of your incentivized products, accounts, and services. Register TODAY as a participating organization at MilitarySaves.org

Use Facebook and Twitter to post messages and resources included in Partner Packets Embed Military Saves pledge form on your organization’s public website. Please share your favorite/success stories and photos from your events, we want to promote them on the Military Saves website and feature them in next year’s report.

Military Saves Campaign Year-Long Effectiveness 50,000 Total Pledges and Re-pledges for 2015! Increasing the number of Military Saves pledges 23,254 Total Pledges and Re-pledges to date: Army 8435, Air Force 8119, Navy 3301, USMC 2655, USCG and National Guard 744 Financial Institutions Relationship building with Banking Liaison Officers, Personal Financial Manager/Counselors, and uniformed command leadership Organizations Identify events, activities, and points of engagement beyond Saves Week FINRA provides Military Saves with a myFICO credit score code for servicemembers and their spouses to access their credit score for free when they take the pledge, throughout the year.
