St. Peter Worship at Key to Life The Believer Hear Jesus’ Warnings… The Word doesn’t bring peace but division St. Peter Worship at Key to Life Saturday, August 13

Welcome to St. Peter! We welcome you to the house of our true and living God for worship this Thirteenth Sunday after our Lord’s Pentecost. This week we begin a four week series of services under the theme, “The Believer Hears Jesus’ Warnings…” Today’s hymns, prayers and reading from the Bible emphasize how God’s Word doesn’t always bring peace. Sadly, it sometimes brings division. Christian, stand firm in the faith and run the race to heaven!

Welcome to St. Peter! There are friendship registers at the end of each row of chairs. Please take a moment to give us your information so that we have a record of your time with us today. Thank you!

For Our Guests If you have questions, let us try to help. Speak with an usher, greeter, or the person next to you. If you’d like to learn more about St. Peter and its ministry, please talk to a pastor or member after the service.

Prayer before Worship Heavenly Father, I have come to worship you. Draw near to me in your gracious Word, and assure me of your loving kindness. Curb my wandering thoughts, that with undivided attention I may hear your voice and sing your praise. Amen.

Please be courteous and silence all pagers and cell phones. Thank you

OUR COMMUNION PRACTICE In the Sacrament of Holy Communion, we express unity with our Savior and those who share our faith and stand on the teachings of God’s Word. Therefore, we invite to our altar those who are members of St. Peter or members of the WELS/ELS. Visitors who wish to commune are asked to speak to a pastor before the service begins.

Slam the Summer Slump! Place service folders from other WELS congregations you visit this summer on the bulletin board in the church entry

Glory be to God (Gloria in Excelsis) All (Sung): Glory be to God on high, and on earth peace, good will toward men. We praise you, we bless you, we worship you, we glorify you, we give thanks to you, for your great glory,

Glory be to God (Gloria in Excelsis) All: O Lord God, heav’nly King, God the Father almighty. O Lord, the only begotten Son, Jesus Christ; O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sin of the world; have mercy on us.

Glory be to God (Gloria in Excelsis) All: You take away the sin of the world; receive our prayer. You sit at the right hand of God the Father; have mercy on us. For you only are holy; you only are the Lord.

Glory be to God (Gloria in Excelsis) All: You only, O Christ, with the Holy Spirit, are most high in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
