Clay Boxes

Using a story, artist, dream/fantasy, or a reflection of your personality for inspiration –create a box with a lid. THEME

STEP ONE Chose a theme and design for your box.

STEP ONE Thumbnail sketches MUST be pre-approved before working with clay.

Create a template out of paper. STEP TWO

Roll out SLABS, using your paper pattern Roll out SLABS, using your paper pattern. Be sure to keep them flat as you let them firm up. STEP THREE

SLIP & SCORE your sides together SLIP & SCORE your sides together. Use a coil on the inside to reinforce the seams. STEP FOUR

STEP FIVE Don’t forget your lid ! It should have a notch on the inside to prevent slipping. STEP FIVE
