The Accepted Trinity VS APOSTOLIC TRINITY

The Accepted Trinity The dogma of the Trinity as defined by the RCC The Trinity is the term employed to signify the central doctrine of the Christian religion – the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons, being truly distinct one from another. Thus, in the words of the Athanasian Creed; "the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God." In this Trinity of Persons the Son is begotten of the Father by an eternal generation, and the Holy Spirit proceeds by an eternal procession from the Father and the Son. Yet, notwithstanding this difference as to origin, the Persons are co-eternal and co-equal: all alike are uncreated and omnipotent. This, the Church teaches, is the revelation regarding God's nature which Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came upon earth to deliver to the world: and which she proposes to man as the foundation of her whole dogmatic system.

TRINITY DEFINED The scriptures conflict with this definition: John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

TRINITY DEFINED John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. .

Fact: The Trinity is in Jesus Christ!

There are Various views on God GOD is... God is.... Two Three GOD is... 1 One!

The Trinity teaches that: GOD is One... But 3 Persons

Latter day Saints say: GOD is... Two

Apostolic Pentecostals say that : GOD is... 1 One!

Now There Are Two characteristics that are Factual: GOD is... 1 One! & GOD is... Spirit

As we have seen The Scriptures affirm both the “oneness” of God’s being and the “One-ness” of God’s person!

Let’s Review some of these Scriptures on His“oneness” Deut. 6:4 The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 1 Cor. 8:4 There is no God but one. Ephesians 4:6 — One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 1

He is God Not They are God!  Isaiah43:10,11 — Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior. 1 Timothy 2:5 — For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. James 2:19 — Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

God created His Son To Be his Temple God said in Malachi 3:1 “Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.” 

Scriptures teach against the “plurality of gods” Exodus 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me.” Isaiah 44:6 I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.

The Three different manifestations are really the same “one God.” The Father is called God: 1 Cor 8:6 Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came Eph 4:6 (there is) one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

The Son is called God: John 1:1 In the be-ginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 10:30 I and the Father are one." Rom 9:5 Christ, who is God over all forever praised!

Scripture reveals the real reason The Son is called God: Col 2:9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,

The Holy Spirit is called God: Acts 5:3 you have lied to the Holy Spirit … 5:4 … You have not lied to men but to God. 1 Cor 2:11 ... no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

Does Scripture reveal other son’s of God? We need to understand what defines the terminology “son of God” Son of God is a term used for those that were created directly by God Adam and Eve were son’s of God Angel’s called son’s of God Body (Flesh) of Jesus was directly created by God & is called the son of God

We can become a son of God by being born again John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 3:5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 

The Athanasian Trinity teaches the three manifestations are distinct from each other --Mt 3:16-17

1 NAME JESUS IS THAT NAME Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

Athanasian Creed says Within the one essence of God there are three distinct persons Who are co-existent, co-equal, and co-eternal. The one essence cannot be divided or multiplied to become three essences. Nor can the three persons be merged to make God one person. God is three persons in one essence.

Man is a Trinity When God created Adam in his likeness and in his image Adam had: A Body – A Soul -- and A Spirit Adam was Not three people but he was One Soul & One Spirit: all in my one body God saw that he was lonely and created Eve and Not Steve Only your body will die and as such God which was Spirit could not die but he could offer his body of flesh that he had created to dwell in as a sacrifice for our sins

Let me Give you Another Illustration Three Manifestations: Mother -- daughter -- and housewife not 3 persons but 3 Titles Father-Son-Husband One Spirit: One Soul all in my one body

In Creation God was Manifest as the Father: Father: Source 1 Cor 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

In redemption God was Manifest in the Son: Son: Died for us Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

In Salvation God is Manifest in us as the Holy Spirit after we are born again: Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Today God is still manifested as the Holy Spirit: Ephesians 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 1 Co. 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

God had a role in: Redemption: Father: Chose us Son: Died for us Holy Spirit: Indwelt us John 3:3,5

One One Same God in three manifestations! GOD is... One Same God in three manifestations! There is no con- tradiction in His characteristics. Because ...

Unique GOD is... None like Him: Isaiah 46:9 I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.
