Charlie Waller Memorial Trust (CWMT) The Trust was established in 1997 in memory of Charlie Waller, who ended his life through suicide The Trust aims to: Equip young people to look after their mental health Help people recognise the signs of depression in themselves and others so they know when to seek help Ensure expert and evidence-based help is available, when needed And the work incudes: Schools, GPs and Primary Care, Workplace and Universities and Further Education
Universities and Further Education CWMT have delivered bespoke training for young people and professionals for a number of years: currently the HE and FE trainers are Jackie Williams and Barbara Lawton, including work around support for friends and families Have been working for some time developing support for people in universities; now with a clear strategy and direction for developing additional support in Further Education (in addition to the work already in place by the Schools and Young People Team) www.studentsagainstdepression.org Keeping Mental Health in Mind: e-Learning

MindEd e-Learning www.minded.org.uk I was involved as Lead Author (Counselling MindEd) in the development of the MindEd, free e-learning resource A cross-professional resource to support knowledge and skills development, for teachers, health professionals, police and judiciary staff, social workers, youth workers, schools counsellors, CAMHS staff, CYPT IAPT therapists, as well as other volunteer staff. To help build confidence in supporting young people to: Develop knowledge to support young people’s wellbeing Understand how to identify a child at risk of mental health problems To build confidence to act on concern and, if needed, signpost to services that can help
