Background of the Company: Honda's founder, Soichiro Honda (17 November 1906 – 5 August 1991) had a great interest in automobiles. He worked as a mechanic at the Art Shokai garage Honda has a very huge infrastructure inside the organization. They are reorganized in to five centers based on specific function.

The Leader: Soichiro Honda 本田 宗一郎 Born November 17, 1906[1] Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan[1] Died August 5, 1991 (aged 84)[1] Tokyo, Japan[1] Nationality Japanese Other names Shacho San Occupation Founder of Honda Spouse(s) Sachi Honda

The Problem: The conflict between Honda and Toyota. Faced by Honda was that supplying resources from other country. The lack of funds as they didn’t even try find any other company to help them.

Short-Term Solution: Soichiro Honda won a contract with Toyota. He took an advantage and hire 500 war surplus two-stroke motors designed to power electric generators. Honda diced to collect surplus gasoline cans in the war 2 he found that it was short supply. However, the turpentine that he himself distilled from pine trees and sold throughout japan.

Long-Term Solution: He able to design the first engine with a low pollution level. He built in Marysville, Ohio a plant which was going to manufacture cars that match the quality standards of the Japanese assembly. He doubled the production and lowered prices. He founded two NGOs – the International Association of Traffic and Safety Sciences.

Summary: Leaders have special qualities and abilities which prove to be so important. Also we know the background for the company, the problems that the leader Soichiro Honda faced, finally the short-term and long-term solution.
