Brigitte Bardot

Brigitte Bardot is the French actress, the singer and the public personality. Brigitte Anne Mari Bardot was born on September 28, 1934 in Paris in a family of the businessman Louis Bardo and Anna Mari Myusel. Since early years Bardo was fond of dances, in particular the ballet.

She has acted for the first time in a film in 1952. The same year, when she was 18, she has married Roger Vadim. Since 1952 Bardo has acted in seventeen movies, generally lyrical comedies and melodramas.

The world popularity of Bardo was brought by the picture "And God Has Created the Woman" (1956). In Europe the movie shocked the audience and received a lot of negative feedbacks. It has been condemned by Catholic church because of defiant behavior of the main character.

In 1966 she starred in Hollywood for the first time in the movie "Dear Brigitte" with Jimmy Stewart. For all the career in cinema Bardo acted more than in fifty movies. During her 21 year long career, Bardot recorded 80 songs, took part in various musicals

In 1973, shortly before the fortieth anniversary, Bardo declared completion of cinema career and devoted the life to fight for animal protection. Bardo from the 1990th repeatedly criticized immigrants and Islam in France, homosexuality and interracial marriages therefore has been condemned five times "for incitement of ethnic strife".
