Rights and Responsibilities Bria Walton Ms. O’Neill Christian Outreach B4 23 August 2011

The Definition The principle, Rights and Responsibilities means that every person has a right to do or have something. Whether its education, healthcare or food and shelter, these are rights that each American citizen is born with.

Real-life example: The Healthcare Reform Just last year in 2010, Healthcare reform was successfully passed. Most Americans were happy about it, some were not. I am pro healthcare reform. I believe that the previous healthcare system was broken. I feel that all Americans deserve and should have the right to affordable, accessible, and adequate healthcare. I especially believe that all children should have healthcare.

Quotes “To suppress free speech is a double wrong. It violates the rights of the hearer as well as those of the speaker.” – Frederick Douglass “Human rights is the soul of our foreign policy, because human rights is the very soul of our sense of nationhood.” – Jimmy Carter
