Introduction in the parables of the pearl of great price and the hidden treasure, Jesus teaches the importance of recognizing true spiritual value the Jews had placed their value in genealogies, wealth, and other earthly measures even the disciples expectations of the coming kingdom were primarily earthly in nature as Christians, we are citizens of that spiritual kingdom, the church (Phil. 3:20-21) Acts 2:30-33, 47

Value of the Spiritual Kingdom both the pearl and the treasure were worth more than all they had, priceless church bought by Christ’s blood (Acts 20:28) promises an eternal inheritance (1 Pet. 1:3-5) Christ’s kingdom worthy of the sacrifice of all not all willing to count the cost (Mt. 19:20-22) (Jn. 12:42)(2 Tim. 4:1-4) what could replace it?
