Uniform Motion Science 10

Uniform Motion is motion with absolutely no change in speed or direction. Although uniform motion is rarely seen in reality, it is easier to analyze and so physicists use it as a model to simplify the real world.

Graphs of Uniform Motion d No motion; the object does not change its position as time goes by.

Graphs of Uniform Motion d Uniform motion up or to the right; the object moves forward as time goes by.

Graphs of Uniform Motion d Uniform motion down or to the left; the object moves backward as time goes by.

Slope of a Line Data points are often graphed so that we might discover the slope of the graph. The slope of a line can often give us useful information. It is calculated by the formula: Slope = Rise Run

Calculating Slope Rise Run

Calculating Slope Slope = Rise Run Rise Run = 10 5 = 2
