What Hitler was like:

I. Background A) Hitlers Rise to Power Leader of Nazi Party - anti-semitic (=hate Jews) and hated ToV terms against Germany Became Fuhrer (Leader) by using his StormTroopers to scare Germans into voting for him (Killed all other politicians (Night of Long Knives), silenced all other political parties) 2) Once in Power - he defied the ToV Expanded Luftwaffe (airforce) and Army Called for unification of German Speaking People (annexing Austria & Czechoslovakia) Lebensraum - idea that German people deserve more land 3) Appeasement -France & GB did nothing in response to above hoping to avoid a war

II. Hitler Invades! A) Poland - 1939 Made pact with Russia to divide Poland Poland attacked on both sides 60,000 killed by Germans- 20,000 killed by Russians B) THEN Germans invade Norway, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Greece C) France - 1941 Made the French sign an armistice agreement in the same train-car that Germans signed the ToV D) BUT NOT – Great Britain Battle of Britain - Luftwaffe vs. British Royal Airforce. Both London & Berlin bombed. Never gave up! Britain never invaded.

III. Hitler vs. Stalin Hitler Turns East Believed Russian people to be inferior Winter War - between Finland & Russia, Finland put up a great fight humiliating Russia (although Russia won). Google: “Simo Hayha” Hitler sent 4 Million soldiers into Russia Battle at Stalingrad - over 2 million people died in one battle Bloodiest Battle in History Germany could not defeat Russia because of the horrible cold ***MOST OF WW2 IS GERMANY VS RUSSIA***

V. Germany Falls! A) D-Day Over 100,000 Soldiers allies make it to Normandy beach Crucial to help soviets on eastern Front B) Battle of the Bulge - Last German offensive trying to cut off allied troops from suppliers in Belgium. Germans lose 100,000 soldiers. C) 1945 - Russia invades Berlin Hitler commits suicide in a bunker 4/30/1945
