Assistant Store Manager By Elizabeth Smith An assistant store manager supports the store manager in the every day operations of a retail store.

Duties Supervises store associates Meet store’s monthly targets, handles budgets Hiring and training new employees Ensures store is clean, well organized, and properly merchandised Scheduling Interact with customers Handles conflict An assistant store manager does everything that a sales associate would do and a little more. They do the day-to-day tasks like answer phones, customers questions, walking the floor, and providing great customer service. They also make sure that sales associates are doing their job correctly, making sure they are talking to their customers and assessing their needs. Assistant managers make the schedules, hire and trains new employees, makes sure the stock associate is replenishing merchandise that is running low, and they report profits and pay-out and looses of the stores revenue. Communicates with the store manager to let them know the goings on with the store, help with the budget, and provide quick access to problems.
