This week marks the end of Black history month This week marks the end of Black history month. Did you know these facts about black people in America? Discuss each point and how you feel about it……………. Less than 150 years ago many black people were slaves. Black and white soldiers were only allowed to fight together after 1948. Black people had to use different public facilities to white people- toilets, drinking fountains, schools and parks. This didn’t end until 1964. All black people didn’t get to vote in the USA until 1965. Martin Luther King gave a speech in 1963, what was significant about this speech??
