Global Ready Graduates: Resources for ANY Classroom Southern Lehigh School District Dr. Leah M. Christman

Bringing the World to Pennsylvania Award Southern Lehigh is the 2016 Recipient of PaCIE’s (Pennsylvania Council for International Education) Bringing the World to Pennsylvania Award

Are you Global Ready? Why global? Why now? “Educating towards global competence is to develop students’ understanding of themselves as integral parts of the world community. Students become aware of the world as a dynamic, interconnected system that often requires sophisticated interventions to equitably promote human interests. Global competence is the fuel students need to develop sensibilities for advancing local and global solutions with concern for all people and generations.” (p21)

A District Challenge… Promote global education- embedding global activities across content and expanding partnerships with other countries.
