Global Case Competition 2018 Program Expansion and Investment

Student Chapters/Participating Schools – Current Program Successful global competition with regional rules and approach: Some virtual Some in-person Non-standard case studies Lacks national or global sponsorship Many key SC schools don’t participate Many schools of APICS chapters don’t participate.

Case Competition Mission In support of our strategic focus on increasing engagement across the Academic community APICS seeks to substantially raise the profile our annual case competition program and dramatically increase the number of students and universities participating.

2018 Case Competition – Combining the global reach of APICS and Deloitte Increase brand recognition in Supply Chain area Expand the presence of the case competition internationally by leveraging Deloitte’s global presence Enhance the case competition process Increase brand recognition in Supply Chain area Build connection with students for potential recruiting Increase possibility for opportunity to present during annual APICS conference – potential customers

Benefits of Collaboration: Students Participation in a best-in-class global event. Engagement with the leading professional association for Supply Chain Management and a global leader in business operations consulting. Real-world case problem solving, incorporating technical knowledge as well as ‘soft skills’. Robust opportunities for mentorship, internships and networking.

2018 Competition Structure College/ University Round Unlimited number of participating schools and teams 4 student member participants per team, up to 2 winning teams per school Traditional business ‘case’ Judging rubric TBD Each team must submit a video file up to 3 minutes and 3 to 5 PPT slides Winners teams submitted to APICS selected by 11/15 Virtual Qualifying Round Judging Panel scoring of the PPT Top scoring teams advance to Regional Qualifying Round (geo- mapped) Winners announced 12/7 Regional Qualifying Round Eight locations: Amsterdam, Atlanta, Chicago, Costa Mesa, CA, Mexico City, Parsippany, NJ, Toronto and Shanghai Up to 8 teams/ location (256 max participants) All participants are provided a $TBD travel stipend 2/23 Friday evening networking; 2/24 Saturday competition Winners announced 2/24 Final Competition Eight teams (one per regional qualifying event) All participants are provided a $TBD travel stipend and complimentary registration for the annual conference Cash prize pool for winning team(s) Potential cash award for the winning school Competition Saturday 9/29; Final presentation Sunday 9/30 Winners announced 10/1

Timing – Program and Communications 2017 10/1 – 10/31 College/University Round 10/16 APICS and Deloitte collaboration announced at APICS 2017 11/15 College/University winners due to APICS 11/16 – 12/6 Virtual Round judging 12/7 Virtual Round winners announced 2018 1/16 Team confirmation due for participation in Regional Round 2/23 – 2/24 Regional Round (hosted globally at select Deloitte offices) 9/30 – 10/1 Final Round

APICS Case Competition Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsorship Program The APICS Case Competition program will be greatly enhanced through the participation of APICS channel partners and corporate partners. The sponsorship program will provide a pathway for these important partner constituencies to underwrite and foster the development of the APICS Case Competition. APICS channel partner sponsors will provide a local point of engagement and mentorship for APICS Case Competition participants. Corporate Partner sponsorship will add an important dimensions of support and buy-in from the supply chain business community underscoring the validity and importance of the APICS Supply Chain Competition.

Sponsorship Opportunity – Channel Partners Overview Designation as an official sponsor for the 2018 APICS Case Competition, including access to the official logo and imagery of the program Benefits Opportunity to provide a representative for on-stage recognition at the opening networking event for one Regional Qualifying competition Access to the opt-in email database for all participants in the Regional Qualifying event
