What is Personalized Learning? In personalized learning settings, teachers assess students’ strengths and needs to create learning plans that are aligned with each student’s interests, while maintaining strong academic standards. This collaboration allows students to take greater ownership of their learning while enabling teachers to work with them to discover their passions and interests. Personalized Learning: What is it? Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

What is Personalized Learning? VSRA - Word Study Strategies and Tips What is Personalized Learning? “Personalized Learning allows students to get the instruction and direction they need, when they need it. Personalized learning means that students’ needs are known to the teacher. It means that students’ learning styles, skills , and even personal issues affecting their learning are known as well.” Personalized Learning Playbook: Why the Time is Now and How to Do It by Anthony Kim. In a blended learning environment, students learn through a combination of online instruction – with some element of student control over time, place, path, and/or pace – and instruction in a supervised brick-and-mortar location away from home. There are several different blended models that schools and districts can customize or combine to meet their specific needs. Greg and Lauren Mihalik

What is Personalized Learning? THE CORE FOUR ELEMENTS OF PERSONALIZED LEARNING

What is Personalized Learning? VSRA - Word Study Strategies and Tips What is Personalized Learning? Targeted Instruction – Through data analysis, teachers can adapt instruction to meet student needs, interests, and skills. Instruction can be adapted individually or through homogenously skilled groups. Data Driven Decisions – Collecting and reviewing data to make informed instructional decisions. Student Reflection and Ownership – Enabling opportunities for students to reflect on their learning and set goals. Integrated Digital Content – Incorporating digital content into curriculum to provide multiple options for learning.
