Spoof Text and Anecdote Text Spoof is pointing to “funny story or jokes”. Most the story are funny because they have unpredictable funny things in the end. Anecdote Text is more inclined to tell the story or odd or unusual events. The unpredictable thing in the end of story which is often funny is called TWIST. This Twist, in term of text type, belongs to spoof. While in the generic structure of anecdote, we can not find the twist. Spoof ends with twist while anecdote is accomplished by coda.

Spoof Text was telling events or funny stories. 2. Anecdote Text has five generic structure : Abstract, Orientation, Crisis and Reaction / Incident, Coda. Spoof Text has three text structure, namely Orientation, Events and Twist. 3. Anecdote ends with problem solving or Coda Spoof Text ends with Twist. 4. In Anecdote will we encounter words that form the question, like do you know? Or etc. Beginning with the story line seemed normal and on the Twist everything changed from the normal incident into a humorous occasion.

Example of Spoof Text Past Tense Adverbial Time Joe’s mother got angry because her son got a low mark on English test. “why did you get a such low mark on that test?” asked mother angrily. asked by his angry mother, Joe just kept silence and went out. A few moment, Joe came back home and met his mother again.  His mother asked the same question. Jow answer steadily “Because of absence” “You mean you were absent on the day of the test?” Joe replied ” No, but my friend next to me”

Example of Anecdote Text Adverbial Time and Place Past Tense A Tragedy or Blessing Years ago in Scotland, the Clark family had a dream. Clark and his wife worked and saved, making plans for their nine children and themselves to travel to the United States. It had taken years, but they had finally saved enough money and had gotten passports and reservations for the whole family on a new liner to the United States. The entire family was filled with anticipation and excitement about their new life. However, seven days before their departure, the youngest son was bitten by a dog. The doctor sewed up the boy but hung a yellow sheet on the Clarks' front door. Because of the possibility of rabies, they were being quarantined for fourteen days. The family's dreams were dashed. They would not be able to make the trip to America as they had planned. The father, filled with disappointment and anger, stomped to the dock to watch the ship leave - without the Clark family. The father shed tears of disappointment and cursed both his son and God for their misfortune. Five days later, the tragic news spread throughout Scotland - the mighty Titanic had sunk. The unsinkable ship had sunk, taking hundreds of lives with it. The Clark family was to have been on that ship, but because the son had been bitten by a dog, they were left behind in Scotland. When Mr. Clark heard the news, he hugged his son and thanked him for saving the family. He thanked God for saving their lives and turning what he had felt was a tragedy into a blessing.
