With Us, But Not One of Us Ecclesiastes 5:1-2
God is Immanent. God is Transcendent Immanence: God is active and always present within nature, humanity, and history. Transcendence: God is independent of, and infinitely superior to His creation.
God is Immanent “Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him?’ declares the Lord. ‘Do I not fill heaven and earth?’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:24
God is Immanent “Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him?’ declares the Lord. ‘Do I not fill heaven and earth?’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:24 “…that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for in him we live and move and have our being, even as some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are indeed his offspring.’” Acts 17:27-28
God is Immanent “As the Lord lives, who has taken away my right, and the Almighty who has made my soul bitter, as long as my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils, my lips will not speak falsehood…” Job 27:2-4 “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” Job 33:4 “If he should set his heart to it and gather to himself his spirit and his breath, all flesh would perish together, and man would return to dust.” Job 34:14-15
God is Immanent “When you hide your face, they are dismayed; when you take away their breath, they hide and return to their dust. When you send forth your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.” Psalm 104:29-30
