WORKPLACE GUIDEBOOK McLaren Health Care One McLaren Parkway Grand Blanc, MI 48439

WELCOME Welcome to McLaren Health Care’s New Building! Welcome!   Welcome to McLaren Health Care’s New Building! Welcome! Today, we reach an important milestone with our Corporate Service teams. This is the first time that we are all together in one location. A lot of thought, effort, and creative problem-solving went into developing this building. The open, light filled space and the various community spaces were developed with one idea in mind—working together. It also embodies our corporate character; our goal was to provide a workplace that enables you to be your best. I hope you are as excited as I am about the move. I look forward to working with each of you in our exceptional new work environment! Phil

BUILDING MAPS These maps are your navigation around your new space! Check it out to find your department, the conference rooms, where the office supplies are and, yes, even the bathrooms! It’s a big building and it might take some time finding your way around.

MEETING SPACES We have Meeting Rooms that are meant for impromptu meetings, casual conversations or a place to talk to someone out of the workspace. These are on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are also smaller “focus” rooms for private or quiet work.

INDIVIDUAL WORKSPACE WORKSPACE CLEAN DESK OPEN CONCEPT Your new workspace is meant to give you the functionality you need, while still being part of an open working environment. The space is equipped with “white noise”.   CLEAN DESK Now that we are working in an open environment, we are asking that staff leave a clean desk for any extended period of time that you may be away from your work area. Our customers have entrusted us to keep material secure and confidential; so let’s make sure to keep secure documents out of sight of anyone that may be walking by when you are away from your desk. OPEN CONCEPT The space was designed for us to be collaborative and work together as a team. A feeling of camaraderie will come as we get to know each other.

OPEN SPACE ETIQUETTE As we all get accustomed to our new space, we’re going to find out the true meaning of “working together. It’s a shared open space, be aware of some common courtesies in the new workspace.   We are one team with a shared vision. We ask that each of you within the organization help build and ensure a culture of courtesy and respect. Be mindful of personal volume and your voice, e.g. silence or put cell phone on vibrate; casual conversations should take place in break room or coffee areas; don’t put your desk phone on speaker phone during a conference call, be wary of “yelling” to the next space. Hold meetings in a designated space versus your workstation. Think about your neighbors as it relates to smells and perfume. We encourage you to not eat at your desk. However if you do, please be aware of “smells” from your food that may be overpowering. If you are having a business conversation be aware of the topic and volume. Respect the use of the common space such as collaborative space and community workspace so everyone can take advantage of the rooms. Keep other staff in mind when booking meeting rooms: Book only the size and time needed for your meeting. Look for ways to make sure space is clean and presentable. It’s especially important to keep the “Fuel Areas” clean. Pitch in by reloading the print / copy machine when out of paper. Explore opportunities to work together to develop good protocols for working in open space  Some of the best insight can be found in hallways and break room discussions. Take advantage of your new workspace and use the assets around you! Manage ringers and notifications. This applies to your desk phone, mobile phone, tablet and computer. Turn down ringer volumes, limit the number of rings, don’t listen to voicemail on speaker phone. It’s about being mindful of those around you.

TAKE A BREAK ONSITE CAFÉ FUEL CENTER VENDING MACHINE CATERING The building’s main break/lunch room is located near the rear of the building. It is well equipped and designed to provide space for eating and socialization events. The room has refrigerators, microwaves, beverage coolers and a coffee machine. Hours are 7:00am – 2:00pm. A variety of foods will be served, including an “On The Go” section. FUEL CENTER This area located on each floor is a smaller area for a quick cup of coffee or beverage. This area will have a refrigerator (no ice) and coffee pots. Coffee and supplies will be provided. VENDING MACHINE A Pepsi beverage machine is located in the Café area on the first floor. CATERING Please contact the Café manager to arrange for any catering needs you might have for your departments: Morrison (810) 342-1132 (Kitchen Office)

EXERCISE & WELLNESS SMOKING WALKING TRAIL ONSITE FITNESS CENTER We encourage you to explore the space around our building during your lunch break as well as other opportunities to stay well! SMOKING Smoking is not allowed on any McLaren property, including in your own vehicle and the Walking Trail. WALKING TRAIL Easily seen from North of the building and to the rear is a wood chip pathway. Convenient and easily accessible, it is an ideal way to get in your daily exercise, be it for an afternoon walk or a breath of fresh air. The trail entry is marked. ONSITE FITNESS CENTER We are pleased that we can offer the convenience of a small fitness center. Please complete the Waiver Form. Once this is completed your Access Card will be programmed to allow entry into the center, based on your hours. There are lockers, which can be used during the time you are using the facility. Please bring your own lock. Both men and women areas have showers.

OFFICE & FACILITY SUPPORT INFORMATION LIGHTING AND OCCUPANCY SENSORS There are motion-sensitive occupancy sensors throughout the building, which control the lighting when an area or room is in use. The use of these sensors helps our work environment become more energy efficient. Typically, these sensors can be found near the entry/doorway of individual areas. COPIER & PRINTER AREAS Kraft machines which will print, copy and fax. Shred bins can be found on each floor. Departmental mail boxes will be located here as well as a spot to put outgoing mail. RECYCLING & WASTE We know being green is important. Look for the recycling containers to place your paper (confidential shred bins), cardboard items (dumpster area) in. At this time, we are not accepting plastic as a recyclable material, although we are checking into the available space in the dumpster area.

OFFICE & FACILITY SUPPORT INFORMATION OFFICE SUPPLIES The Office Supply Closet on each floor will maintain standard supplies in the cabinets near the copier/printer areas.   JANITORIAL SERVICES A clean workplace is important to us all. Janitorial services are provided daily. Fridges will be cleaned out every Friday, continue to label your items that you don’t want to see disappear by each Thursday.

PHONES & VOICEMAIL / WIRELESS DEVICES & WI-FI For information on how to use your phone, access features, access /setup voice mail, and use of the phone paging feature, please reference the Phone Guide or Quick Reference Guide, located on the intranet or refer to a printed guide at your workspace.   WIRELESS DEVICES & WIFI WiFi is located throughout the building for convenient accessing by wireless devices.
