Summary of the session 1: Platforms under the NGN Environments Several approaches on platform aspects are going on in ITU-T NGN-SIDE, OSE and LIME Not exactly same but similar approaches should be considered such as MDS, SDF etc. Identify much more common interesting parts between NGN-SIDE and OSE while LIME mainly focuses on IPTV Ad-Hoc Activity on SIDE-OSE (including by correspondence: Mr. Ali and Mr. Seungyun Lee) Identify lists of differences between NGN-SIDE and NGN-OSE Identify necessary “Referencing points” of NGN-SIDE by considering Y.2234 and H.762 as well as any other related ITU-T Recommendations Scopes of “Adaptation” in NGN-SIDE also identified Clear the situation of drafts SIDE and OSE-Arch documents for consent at September SG13 Proposed date for Face-Face Ad-Hoc meeting: 6th September (8:30 ~ 9:30) Detailed plan for progressing collaboration Prepare two documents by August 23 (Mon) (by Mr. Ali) 1.      Comparison of two documents (in particular, *Requirements* perspectives) 2.      Proposal (how reflect the results to Y.NGN-SIDE document) -       Option 1. Reflect to the main documents (refer to Y.2234) -       Option 2. Adding of Appendix (Relationship of SIDE and OSE) 3.      If possible, ETRI also prepare the comparison documents. Finalizing of tow documents and submit to ITU-T by August 24 (TUE) 4.      Seungyun Lee & Ali will review all then finalize them. 5.      Submit the documents to ITU-T (*considering of common contribution)

Summary of the session 2: Future of IPTV Strongest case of AM is mobile IPTV – personalization and contextualization e.g BMCO Forum (Broadcast Mobile Convergence Forum) Google Targeted advertisement is one example Reason for standards: Regulations, data-exchangeability One aspect of “Future of IPTV” may lie in “Mobile IPTV with AM/context-aware capabilities”, considering CJK contributions to ITU IPTV discussion First step is to collect use cases and scenarios solution (examples) (on Future of IPTV) to make contributions to ITU to create a TP or guideline or Handbook on this issue CCSA will ask IPTV experts whether they are interested 3 NW convergence is a hot topic in China, and this Mobile IPTV w/Context-awareness seems like a good topic. Expect contributions and collaborations from CJK members on this subject (and across SGs) for “future of IPTV”. With the understanding that Chinese delegates will agree after consultation, CJK in Nov. Contribution to IPTV-GSI (in Dec.) and then to NGN-GSI

Summary of the session 3: Standard activities on Cloud Computing (CC) and collaboration strategy in FG-CC Introduction to Cloud Computing Standardization in ITU-T Presenter : Kangcha Lee, ETRI/TTA The activities of ITU-T FG Cloud, Q.23/13, and Q.8/17 was introduced Standardization of Cloud Computing Presenter : Wei Gao, CATR/CCSA Understanding of Cloud Computing, and Considerations of Cloud Computing Standardization was discussed The Cloud Computing Standardization Architecture and suggestions was proposed, and it is agreed to submit contribution to Q.23/13 based on the discussion KT’s perspectives on Cloud Computing Standardization Presenter : Mijeom Kim, KT/TTA Telco’s approaches to Cloud Computing and KT’s status/direction was presented IT is agreed to submit contributions to ITU-T FG Cloud ITU-T Cloud Computing Roadmap proposed format and procedure Presenter : Kazuonori MATSUO, KDDI/TTC The Roadmap works in ITU-T such as NGN, IPTV, etc was announced, and Proposed structure of Roadmap on Cloud Computing It is agreed to submitting contribution to ITU-T FG Cloud meeting Note for faced related Meeting ITU-T FG Cloud : 2-6, September, Geneva ITU-T Q.23/13 : 6-16, September, Geneva

Summary of the session 4: Smart Grid into Telecommunication and Standard collaboration Presentations: (1)   Smart Grid in China (CCSA): Strong smart grid of China was introduced. (2)   Smart Grid status in Korea (TTA): Smart grid roadmap and field trial were presented. (3)   Telecommunications requirements supporting smart grid and standard consideration: ITU-T FG on Smart grid and other SDOs’ activities were identified. (4)   Issues on requirement of Smart Grid network: Communications aspects of Smart Grid were suggested. Discussion summary: Recognized that Smart Grid was originally initiated from Power industry, but it should be taken into account the convergence with ICT industry CJK members understand and agreed the importance of Smart Grid standard and the necessity of the collaboration to lead an international standardization activities.

Summary of the session 5: Status of “Internet of Things” Joint session with NID/USN WG Status of IoT in China, Japan and Korea were presented. The following questions were raised and discussed The definition of IoT: The current situation is that different people/SDOs have different understandings A network infrastructure? and what kind of network? Physical or logical? A new type of service? The position of IoT: What is the relationship between IoT and UN IoT is one part of Ubiquitous Network from China perspective Ubiquitous Networking providing capabilities to support IoT, so UN is one part of IoT from Korea perspective Next step Work together among CJK to try to have a concrete definition of IoT. IoT was initiated from UNIOT WG and NID/USN WG, so these two WGs agreed to have joint meeting to discuss IoT issues including IoT white paper developing in NID/USN WG in Nov. meeting.

Summary of the session 6: Future of MPLS-TP INPUTS CJK-UNIOT19-013 of CCSA showed demands/applications driving for MPLS-TP based PTN in China. It showed standardization progress in CCSA as well as industry demonstrations of the recent implementations. CJK-UNIOT19-023 of CCSA showed requirements and implementations in China Mobile for their radio access network and proposed adopting “draft-bhh” solution according to their experiences. CJK-UNIOT19-008 of CCSA summarized the joint activity between ITU-T and IETF and asked for pushing “draft-bhh”. CJK-UNIOT19-018 of TTC examined MPLS-TP approaches from implementation’s viewpoint. CJK-UNIOT19-021 of TTC considered specific OAM requirements and mechanisms, i.e., per-interface model and hitless/temporal segment monitoring. RESULTS CJK experts appreciated discussion here to understand the current market and standard situation in CJK. They agreed to continue the collaboration including CJK ad hoc activity along with ITU-T SG15 meeting, lead by China/Japan experts CJK UNIOT WG expects information on collaboration results on MPLS-TP issue in the future.

Summary of the session 7: CJK Test-bed Three contributions on NGN Test-bed studies so far and a proposed contribution for 15th GSC meeting are presented. Wrap-up report on test scenario of functionally distributed transport network(UNIOT19-007) SE failover of functionally distributed transport network (UNIOT19-005) Traffic Monitoring on CJK-Network (UNIOT19-006) Draft contribution on the CJK NGN test-bed studies as an input to coming the 15th GSC meeting (UNIOT19-020) After clarifications of evaluation results, we understood the purpose of the test scenario (switching the failure path etc.) Analysis report on the network error detection and failure finding methods have been introduced. Further additional results will be provided at the next CJK meeting in Tokyo. The meeting agreed to prepare the GSC contribution relevant to the CJK test bed studies as the HIS subject, NGN-General. It is an example of informative approach, not the paperwork, of the current best practice and the practical proof of the concept of ITU Recommendation.
