Student Safety Contract

Is your classroom clean?

Is your classroom safe?

Grades for Participation & Safety in your program

Tracking your students safety progress

THIS IS WHY IT MATTERS!

Classroom Organization & Management Develop a statement of Purpose Example: “Our classroom will provide safe, positive learning environment, which promotes cooperation, creativity and academic success. All students will be active participants om the educational process in order to achieve their full potential.”

Develop a Set of 3 to 5 Classroom Expectations “Although the expectations and procedures used by effective classroom manages vary from teacher to teacher, we do not find effectively managed classrooms operating without them.” Emmer, Evertson, Sanford, Clements, & Worsham. 1982 in Organizing and Managing the Junior High School Classroom

Guidelines for Writing Expectations Consistent with School expectations Understandable Doable Manageable Always applicable Stated positively Stated behaviorally

Self-Assessment Features: My Classroom expectations are aligned with schoolwide expectations(i.e. Safe, Respectful, Responsible, Ready). My expectations are observable and measurable. I have five or fewer expectations. My classroom expectations are prominently posted. I have developed lessons to teach classroom expectations.

I refer to expectations regularly when interacting with students. A teaching schedule that includes classroom expectations lessons is developed and on file in the office. My expectations are provided in my syllabus. 80% of my students can tell the classroom expectations.

Be SAFE & have a FABULOUS 2016 – 17 School Year!!!!!!!!!
