Was Massachusetts successful? Winthrop devoted over 20 years of his life to building the Massachusetts Colony. He shared the hardships of his fellow colonists in establishing a godly society. So yes, our colony was successful, due to the founder. When was Massachusettes established? Massachusetts Bay Colony was founded in 1630.

Why was Massachusetts established? Puritans left England and came to Massachusetts for religious freedom. Who was the founder of Massachusetts? Winthrop and as many as 1000 puritan refugees originally founded Massachusetts

What did Massachusetts produce to export and make money? Fish, whale products, fur, timber products, metals and metal products, raw wool, and ships. Who made up the colonists of our colony? The colony was made up of many puritan refugees that traveled from England.

What region was Massachusetts associated with? What form of government did the colonists establish in the colony themselves? Originally governed by landowners What region was Massachusetts associated with? New England colony

Founder(s) of Massachusetts John Winthrop He was the first governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and a prominent figure among the Puritan founders of New England. Winthrop was one of the best educated of the Puritan colonist. Thomas Dudley He was one of the signers of the agreement to form the Massachusetts Bay Company. On Oct. 20, he became one of the five officers to come to America with the Royal Charter.

Interesting facts about Massachusetts Massachusetts means “at the great hill.” The Plymouth colony was founded by pilgrims who arrived on the mayflower. Although, the Massachusetts Bay Colony was not settled till 10 years after their arrival. Known for “the landing place of the Mayflower.”
