Atlanta Cluster) District Mission & Vision Cluster Mission & Vision School Mission & Vision With a caring culture of trust and collaboration every student will graduate ready for college and career A high-performing school district where students love to learn, educators inspire, families engage and the community trusts the system The South Atlanta Cluster provide a supportive learning environment which fosters intellectual, social-emotional and creative growth in order to prepare every student for college and career. Signature Program: __Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)_______________________ Key Performance Measures School Priorities School Strategies Improve student mastery in all content areas Increase Reading Lexile levels Develop a robust intervention plan for Reading 1A. Utilize the district’s units of study and other supplementary resources to meet the instructional needs of all scholars. 2A. Teach phonics in an explicit and systematic format using district resources (Fundations & BLAST phonics) 2B. Systematically teach word study strategies to improve vocabulary acquisition (word walls, word sorts, reference aids, graphic organizers, and other visuals, etc.). 2C Teach comprehension strategies in order for students to: self monitor comprehension, use visualization, answer higher level questions, use text structure, summarize key ideas and etc. Increase the number of students in Grade 3 meeting or exceeding a Lexile measure of 650 Increase the number of students in Grade 5 meeting or exceeding a Lexile measure of 850 Increase the number of students proficient/distinguished in every content area Increase the number of progress points received TKES classroom observations Increase student Reading EOG outcomes Increase foundational reading and math skills Increase star CCRPI rating Increase the number of students feeling safe at school by 10 percentage points Academic Program Uses of Flexibility/Innovation Build teacher capacity of K-2 teachers’ foundational reading skills Provide increased learning time for struggling scholars Improve school culture Provide ongoing feedback utilizing TKES platform Provide ongoing professional development in the area or Foundational Reading skills through the Fundations curriculum.
