Review: energy quiz

What is Energy?

Energy: The ability to do work or cause change.

What is Potential Energy?

Potential Energy is energy that is stored or held in readiness.

What is Kinetic Energy?

Kinetic Energy is the energy of motion.

What is the Law of Conservation of Energy?

Law of Conservation of Energy; When one form of energy is converted to another, no energy is destroyed in the process.

Review for Quiz: Energy: The ability to do work or cause change. Potential Energy: Energy that is stored and held in readiness. Kinetic Energy: The energy of motion. Law of Conservation of Energy; When one form of energy is converted to another, no energy is destroyed in the process.

Label A through E as either potential or kinetic energy.

Review for Quiz: At which letter does the cannon ball have the most potential energy? Why?   As the cannon ball rises from A to C it slows down. Explain why this is true. The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it transforms from one form to another. Explain how the picture supports this statement.

BR: KEPE Graph Directions: Copy and answer the following questions: Copy the graph Use colored pencils Label your graph Copy and answer the following questions: What is an object’s kinetic energy is based on? What is an object’s potential energy is based on? An increase in potential energy will result in a _________ in kinetic energy. 1. Kinetic energy is based on mass. 2. Potential energy is based on mass and height. 3..Decrease

What is an object’s kinetic energy is based on? Kinetic energy is based on mass and speed. What is an object’s potential energy is based on? Potential energy is based on mass and height above the ground. An increase in potential energy will result in a decrease in kinetic energy. 1. Kinetic energy is based on mass. 2. Potential energy is based on mass and height. 3..Decrease
